Born 3 October 1968 in Bloemfontein, South Africa, where he is currently living. He is happily married with Sanet (a qualified nurse) and has a baby daughter Eden-Lee.
Matriculated in 1986 at the HTS Kimberley (Northern Cape), and studied at the Technicon Free State where he completed his Diploma in Clinical Technology in 1991. After that, he worked as a clinical technologist in the Department Kardiology at Universitas Hospital. Since 1995 in a private practice at Rosepark Hospital. He also has a pilot's licence.
